MADAGASCAR
This is a country famous for its lemurs, but I was after other things-principally, their unique and fascinating crystals. Here I encountered labradorite by the ton. It may not look like much in it's big rock form (photos 1 & 2), but wait until the experts cut and polish it into hearts, spheres, slabs, and every other form imaginable. Then their beauty stands out! (photo 3).
I also have to give a mention to the rose and lavender quartz (photo 4). Plus, the special types of quartz crystals such as phantom, titan, snowball, and orange flames-to name a few. Oh, the agony of having to make a selection! Again, I would have liked the whole lot. (photo 5)
Then there was the delightful visit to the local markets. Here the fun begins with my worldwide calculator to assist with the business side of things. (photo 6)
