PAKISTAN
I really enjoyed my time in Pakistan. The culture, history and scenery were so different. And what a place to go crystal hunting!
Okay, maybe the accommodation isn't Five Star (photos 5 and 6), but the scenery makes up for it. (photo 5-Hoper Glacier and photo 2-the Hunza Valley)
This is also earthquake country, so the dirt roads are frequently punctuated by local landslides (photo 7) which makes for a more interesting journey. One wouldn't want to go in a local Jeep without a local driver! (photo 1)
Pakistanis are famous for their negotiating skills. (photo 8) Here we are in Suppot along the Northwest Frontier Province. The world's largest peridot crystals were found in this region.
Photo 9 shows some of my booty. Absolutely spectacular!
